We have a nice lineup for college football today, especially in the top five ranked teams in the country.
But the story of the day is the Big 10 coming back to action. All eyes will be on the Nebraska Cornhuskers as they battle the Ohio State Buckeyes which are getting ranked fifth right out of the gate.
As Clemson, Alabama, Notre Dame, Georgia and Ohio State prepare for their next matchups, we continue to find the most profitable bets.

Syracuse Orange vs #1 Clemson Tigers
Last week Clemson was a 27-point favorite and won by 63 points. Right now, they are favored by 46 points.
Syracuse hasn’t had a loss that bad, yet. And they have played two top 25 ranked teams at the time, Pittsburgh and UNC. But their losses were 25 points and 11 points.
46 points is pretty steep.
I’m sure Clemson’s 66-point win last week against Georgia Tech is weighing on the spread.
The Tigers have only beat one other team by more than 46 points, The Citadel Bulldogs.
You already know Trevor Lawrence and the Clemson Tigers are going to roll past Syracuse, it’s not a question. The spread just makes it interesting.
Let’s assume Syracuse has an actual defense, and haven’t been stopping people by ghosts on the field.
Makes taking Clemson -46 a tough bet for tomorrow.
#2 Alabama Crimson Tide vs Tennessee Volunteers
The 4-0 Crimson Tide are going up against a struggling Volunteers team. Tennessee loves their football, but it’s something to ignore this season.
They are off to a 2-2 start, and the 4th ranked team in the country was one of their losses. The other was to University of Kentucky.
That was the straw that broke the camels back and sent the Volunteers out of the top 25. When they faced Georgia, they were ranked 14th in the nation.
Don’t look for them to get back into the mix tomorrow, unless there is some sort of a miracle. Something to spark them. Even that probably isn’t enough for them to win the game, but it could help them cover the 21.5-point spread.
The Vol’s lost by 27 points last week to UK after losing by 23 points to Georgia. Bama is going to do work on their defense for sure, and I don’t see Tennessee getting much going on the offensive side.
The spread seems about right.
#3 Notre Dame Fighting Irish vs Pittsburgh Panthers
A 3:30 pm EST kickoff has the closest game of the top five teams – the Irish favored by just 10 points.
Maybe it’s because the Pittsburgh Pirates which ranked 25th in week two. After three consecutive losses to NC State, Boston College and 13th ranked Miami, they are an after thought for being a top team.
The Fighting Irish look to keep it that way.
Off to a red hot 4-0 start, but they haven’t played a top team yet.
The closest was Louisville, which has barely broken the top 25 as well, they grabbed a five-point win.
Pittsburgh beat the Cardinals back in September 23-20, which means this is going to be a good game.
It’s a slight test to the Irish’s high top five ranking. Don’t get me wrong, they have some impressive wins like a 52-0 shutout against USF (Who? Lol) but Pittsburgh knows they stand a chance.
And that makes them dangerous.
#4 Georgia has a bye week, so we’ll catch up with them next Friday…
Nebraska Cornhuskers vs #5 Ohio State Buckeyes
Welcome to reality Big 10.
They haven’t played a game yet this season, but the Big 10 conference begins their season tomorrow.
It’s last on our list, because Ohio State is the fifth ranked team, but they have an early noon kickoff.
An over/under of 68.5 and just like I leaned heavily towards the overs when most conferences started the season, I’ll stick to that here.
Look for their defense to be a bit sluggish, while the offenses are just playing catch like they are in the backyard.
Ohio is projected to roll this year, favored by 26 points for this matchup.
Since we haven’t seen what they can put on the field yet, I don’t like the spread bets. I want to see some action. Then, once we see how they matchup, you can get an idea of how strong their overall team is, on offense and defense.
Either way, this is going to be a great game. I’m ready to kick back and watch some exciting games today – and make some money along the way.
