Before we breakdown this game, we have to move pass our loss yesterday. We had Wyoming losing by nine points or less in that game.
Wyoming, leading at halftime, failed to show up for the second half. Their absence of offense lead to New Mexico rallying back to take a ten point lead in the final minute. We had this one in the bay at halftime, but it takes two halves to count.
Today, we’ll ride the momentum to get back on track
In the quarterfinal round of the MAC Tournament, the Buffalo Bulls face the Akron Zips, with the Bulls a nine point favorite.
Akron soared to an easy victory on Monday, topping Miami (Ohio) in an 80 to 51 rout. This is giving them some momentum heading into the matchup, but Buffalo has its own momentum going for them.
They are coming off a nine game win streak heading into tomorrow. Akron is looking for the upset, but I see no reason this win streak will fade in this game.
In fact, I like riding Buffalo’s win streak and momentum to help them top Akron by more than nine points.
The two met twice during the regular season, each matchup going Buffalo’s way. The first meeting was at Akron, where Buffalo squeaked by with a 76-70 victory.
In February, they met again in Buffalo. That led to a Bulls victory of more tahn ten points.
Given the nine point spread with this matchup, I’m taking Buffalos side, and the stats back that up.
Heading into the game, Buffalo has averaged 85 points per game, proving to be an offensive powerhouse as the 18th team in the nation.
Akron, on the other hand, has just 69.5 points per game. Their defense has been good, keeping teams on average at just 63.3, but we have seen it doesn’t stand up to a top tier team like Buffalo.
With better ball players all around, I like the Buffalo Bulls to win by at least nine in this game.
The odds are paying -110 at FanDuel for the pick. That means a $110 bet would pay out $100. To win, Buffalo needs to win by more than nine points. If they win by nine, it’s a tie and your bet is refunded.
