DSB Rundown: College Football, “If I Die, I Die,” Jazz Eliminated and Heat Do It Again…

There’s a lot going on in the world of sports, the biggest news is college football is back!

While some conferences are in, some are out, we have our first games of NCAA games tonight. Let’s go!

Kirk’s words on COVID-19 – “If I die, I die.”

Jazz fall short to the Nuggets and the Heat do it again.

All that plus the top matchups of the day.

Let’s dive in…

Our “Pick of the Day” today is in the MLB between the Washington Nationals and Philadelphia Phillies.

College Football is Back!

It’s for real.  College football is back, and I’m pumped.

Tonight, Central Arkansas vs UAB and South Alabama vs Southern Mississippi.

A round of applause people. They are even selling tickets. One step closer to a normal reality. Now if we could just have all the conferences come back to reality, that’d be great.

I honestly don’t know enough here at the start of the season to place bets on these games, but after we get a few under our belt, we be ready for the action.

For now, let’s just enjoy the matchups.

“If I Die, I Die”

Those are Kirk Cousins’ words not mine. But man, to walk them back so quick with a little backlash was weak. We know there is a virus. Captain Kirk isn’t afraid. He’s a healthy athlete. And why would he be? The virus is practically harmless to 99% of people.

So while we know there is a pandemic, it’s okay for people to not be afraid. To simply not be worried about a virus that, as far as the CDC is concerned, is here to stay.

They have gone back and forth for so long about what to do, what not to do, who the heck cares anymore.

Let it be.

Jazz Eliminated

In classic fashion I might add. Two chances in the final seconds to tie it up, or win it all, and they came up short.

The Utah Jazz worked their way to a 3-1 lead in the series, but just couldn’t find that last win. The Nuggets won three straight games for the elimination.

Heat Dominate Bucks… Again.

Maybe dominate is a little strong, but look, you’re the Milwaukee Bucks. The favorite to win it all. And the Heat, while a solid team, have taken a 2-0 lead in the series.

A potential sweep of the top team in the NBA.

A wins a win, and though this one was close, just 116-114, the two game cushion gives the Heat plenty of room to finish this series out and advance in the next few games.

I don’t see the Bucks overcoming this the way they are playing.

Our Rundown today features the two college football games plus two NBA matchups.

The Daily Sports Bets Rundown

Our “Pick of the Day” in the MLB is between the Washington Nationals (+150) and Philadelphia Phillies (-174). Again, if you want access to these elite picks, one each day, click here to learn more.

The first college action, for the most part, and we have the Central Arkansas Bears (+820) and the UAB Blazers (-1600). Then the South Alabama Jaguars (+410) and the Southern Miss Golden Eagles (-590).

Those are two huge favorites tonight, and two massive underdogs. The spread is where it gets interesting, but it’s my experience that a lack of practice and conditioning, likely due to COVID-19, could lead to more powerful offenses. So, if I had to bet, I like the overs in tonight’s games.

The Toronto Raptors (-110) and Boston Celtics (-106) are onto game three of the semifinals round and it’s been all Boston so far. After an impressive win for the Celtics in game one, 112-94, they came around with a 102-99 win in game two. But they can only hold off the Raptors for so long. This could be Toronto’s night to finally get a win in the series.

After the big game seven, the Denver Nuggets (+300) go right to work on the Los Angeles Clippers (-375) at an 8.5 point underdog at that. Now that’s interesting. It’s a generous spread, but the Clippers are on a roll. I’d lean towards the Nuggets gaining some momentum after their three game win streak over the Jazz.
