After dismantling a really good Arizona Coyotes team, it may not even be a question – we already know the Colorado Avalanche are the real deal.
But sportsbooks still have Vegas Golden Knights sitting at the top for winning the Stanley Cup Playoffs.
After their recent games though, I don’t think there’s any question as to who’s the number one team in the NHL.
Here’s why…
Colorado Avalanche Will Leap to the Top
It’s a close call when you get into the elite teams of the NHL, but you can’t ignore the talent in Colorado after the brutal beatdown of Arizona.
Arizona was no slouch. These guys had a legitimate chance to make a run. Colorado just wasn’t entertaining the idea.
After the Coyotes won a game to make the series 2-1 in favor of Colorado, the Avalanche came out like a rocket in the final two games.
They won both with a 7-1 score.
Two back-to-back wins like that are going to propel them into round two and give them momentum right into the Stanley Cup finals.
When I look around, no other team is showing the talent Colorado has. Nathan MacKinnon is now referred to being the best player in the world. Who’s going bet against that.
We’ll get a better look in round two as they face a tougher opponent in the Dallas Stars. But I don’t expect them to slow down. This is one hot team.

Today’s Rundown features some major underdogs. One in the MLB, two great matchups in the NBA, and a mismatch in the NHL.
The Daily Sports Bets Rundown
Do you think the Brooklyn Nets (+430) have another win in them? The Toronto Raptors (-590) continue to be huge favorites as they have won their last six games. The Nets are just a speed bump on their way to round two to face a tougher opponent. But Brooklyn isn’t lying down. Just not sure which game they are going to steal.
The Philadelphia Phillies (-108) take on the Atlanta Braves (-108) over in the MLB. The odds show this as a tossup, but the clear favorite has to be the Braves. Better record, though somewhat weaker opponents. Still, if you give them the benefit of the doubt, there’s some value in the -108 odds for the Braves to win.
In the NHL, there’s a mismatch in the odds with the St. Louis Blues (-140) and Vancouver Canucks (+120). Both teams are great, and the Blues has the better record this season. But the Canucks are all over them in the playoffs, leading the series 3-2. It’s a chance for the Canucks to advance to round two. A huge game, and those odds make it tempting to place a bet.
Our “Pick of the Day,” only for Elite Daily Bets members, is game three in the west between the LA Clippers (+164) and the Dallas Mavericks (-196). Two top teams that are going to battle with the series tied 1-1. And I have the top bet on this matchup. The best value way to get it is to sign up for our Fan Club package – just $49.99 for 365 picks. One every single day. Click here to join today.
