DraftKings and Cubs Deal
The DraftKings just signed a huge deal with the Chicago Cubs to bring a sportsbook at or near Wrigley Field. The deal is around $100 million over nearly a decade.
But, taking a step back, this is huge.
Live bets at the field during the game, pretty cool.
I know everyone can do it on their phone now with DraftKings and FanDuel and many other sportsbooks, but it brings a new element to the sportsbook that the casinos and Vegas can’t offer – being there for the live action.
I think it will be a hit and is only a sign of the expansion and acceptance of the sports betting environment.
Jags Tanking?
I think the one thing that has been clear as day this offseason, is the Jags are tanking. Whether they want Trevor Lawrence or have their eye on someone else, their moves only point to one conclusion.
They don’t want to win.
Yesterday they traded safety Ronnie Harrison to the Cleveland Browns.
They let their leading rusher, Leonard Fournette, walk free on Monday.
And traded defensive end Yannick Ngakoue to Minnesota.
These are not talentless players. These are guys half the teams in the league want. Maybe they didn’t want to pay for Fournette, but he will be a beast this year.
The Jags are sending a message that they don’t want to win. Stuff like that should be illegal in the NFL.
Our Rundown today features the two NBA playoff games and a big underdog worth a shot in the MLB.

A big underdog in the MLB is the Colorado Rockies (+220) against the Los Angeles Dodgers (-260). Now, the Dodgers are playing great baseball and you’d be crazy to bet against them. They have only five losses at home this year and have beat the Rockies every chance they have had. But tonight, may be a night to pass on taking the Dodgers. The Rockies want this win, bad.
The Milwaukee Bucks (-215) get a chance at the Miami Heat (+180) once again for game three. And the odds makers are just hating on Miami. Up 2-0 in the series, they still have the Bucks as the favorite. I think they will bounce back too, but give Miami some respect, they are not slowing down against this great Bucks team.
A showdown for the ages as Lebron and the Los Angeles Lakers (-270) take on the James Harden and the Houston Rockets (+220). It’s going to be a great game one, but the Lakers by six points. Come on man. This is what Harden loves and it’d be great to see the Rockets come out firing tonight. They are not the Trail Blazers, that’s for sure.
