We have a few sports stories to touch on today, but the one that stole the show was not even real life – it’s a video game.
Kaepernick being added to the Madden video game went viral, and for all the wrong reasons.
We’ll get into that and more in just a moment.
First, our “Pick of the Day” that goes out to all of our Fan Club members is on the NHL today, between the New York Islanders and Vegas Golden Knights.

Let’s dive in…
Heat Move On
The Miami Heat advanced to the Eastern Conference Finals for the first time since 2014.
Without Giannis for the Bucks, Milwaukee couldn’t get it done. The once favorite to win it all went out with a 1-4 series against a rising Miami Heat team.
Now the Heat await the winner between Toronto and Boston. Boston leads the series 3-2 and could take it away tomorrow night.
The other series, between the Lakers and Rockets and Nuggets and Clippers will have to wait a few more days before they even know who’s playing who. Right now, the leading team only has two wins, which means at least two more games before they get into their conference finals.
Kaepernick Joins Madden
It’s the first time he’s on the game since 2016, the last time he played for an NFL team.
This is all well and good. Afterall, Colin Kaepernick has rose to fame for kneeling during the national anthem. Something that seems normal with today’s sports environment.
But, outside of politics, Madden still created a lot of controversy.
For starters, Kaepernick, though he kneeled, was also a fading quarterback. He ended up being benched and no other team wanted him.
It’s the NFL, they let drug addicts, women beaters and armed robbers back into the league.
But a guy that kneeled for the anthem they supposedly forced out.
Even if you believe all that, he hasn’t played a game in four years.
Yet, has a QB rating in the game that is in the top 15 of 32 NFL starting quarterbacks. Better than starters such as Josh Allen, Kyler Murray, Cam Newton and Derek Carr.
And there’s your controversy.
You want to add him back to the game, fine. But give him a realistic rating. I mean better than a young and extremely talented Kyler Murray, who plays a similar style, is just a joke.
It’s more like an All-Madden rating for Kaepernick – the best rating he could have gotten.
Maybe next time Madden will stay out of politics, and just keep ranking the players in the game – not the ones sitting at home.
