Are we losing sports to politics?
It’s an important question after the stunts we have seen not just in recent years, but in the past few days.
The MLS kicked it off with a t-shirts and single fists in the air.
Then the MLB has a Black Lives Matter stencil on the mound, kneeling before the anthem and Fauci throwing a pitch.
The NBA will have Black Lives Matter painted on the court and who knows what the NFL will do.
The point is, we are on the cusp of losing sports to politics.
Getting Back to the Basics
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, politics and sports shouldn’t mix. The BLM movement is already nationally known. What’s the point of putting it on the court.
The problem really is that you start this with one movement, but then every movement wants to get their slogan painted on a court and worn on shirts at games. Who get’s to decide this? Who decides the participation of the players? What if a player doesn’t want to politized their platform?
It brings up all sorts of questions, and steals away from the actual sport.
So let’s get back to the basics, focus on fundamentals, trick moves, top 10 plays and major upsets.
Our “Pick of the Day’s” have been focused on the MLB. Baseball is back and we are racking up the money. The San Francisco Giants and Los Angeles Dodgers is the top bet today.

Our Rundown is all about the MLB today. With no MLS or English Premier League games, we can run through four top MLB games for the day.
The Daily Sports Bets Rundown
First up, the Atlanta Braves (+128) and the New York Mets (-148). This first few games could be all over the place. And that’s going to make some room for a lot of upsets, and blowouts that you didnt see coming. It could go either way, but the odds, plus or minus a run, makes this an interesting bet.
The Miami Marlins (+168) and the Philadelphia Phillies (-196) are one where I like the underdog. The Marlins have struggled for years, but with a shorter season, and a young and spry team, they have a chance. But stealing a few games are a must. This could be one.
When the Seattle Mariners (+250) go against the Houston Astros (-300), the odds clearly show a huge favorite in the Astros. But they got ride of Gerrit Cole. They may not be the same team this time around, and allow some teams to slip in for a win, or at least a close game. Maybe the Mariners plus 1.5, or go with the blowout for the Astros.
So the last game of the day, the Los Angeles Angels (+132) and the Oakland Athletics (-152). A pretty even matchup, but I like taking the underdog Angels plus 1.5 runs. By taking the underdogs, we stand to win if they just keep it within a run, or have a surprise win.
