DSB Rundown: NCAA Football Big Saturday Slate

DSB Rundown: NCAA Football Big Saturday Slate

We have a ton of great college football games on tap for this Saturday. But the slate of top ranked teams is excellent. You simply don’t want to miss these big games.

It all starts with the #1 Clemson Tigers take on Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets at noon. At 2:30 the Louisville Cardinals face the #4 Notre Dame Fighting Irish. After the early games, you get a 7:30 kickoff for a battle in the ACC #5 North Carolina Tar Heels and Florida State Seminoles.

Then comes the game of the week, the best for last.

A top ranked matchup between #3 Georgia Bulldogs and #2 Alabama Crimson Tide.

Here’s what to watch this weekend…

#5 North Carolina Tar Heels vs Florida State University

The Tar Heels have been able to fight for the fifth spot in the country this year. They have started the season strong with three straight wins, one against 19th ranked Virginia Tech by 11 points.

But before that they struggled to squeeze by Boston College with a four-point win.

Florida State has had a tough schedule so far, with two of their four games against top 25-ranked teams.

Last week they faced Notre Dame, which was fifth in the country at that point, and lost by 16 points.

The Tar Heels are favored by 14 points tonight as they look for their fourth win of the season.

We just haven’t seen anything from Florida State to show that they can even cover this.

Look for the Tar Heels to come away with a big win tomorrow.

Louisville Cardinals vs #4 Notre Dame Fighting Irish

Louisville is off to a 1-3 start after facing two top 25-ranked teams and their schedule doesn’t get any easier today.

They travel to Ohio to face the fourth ranked team in the country – the Notre Dame Fighting Irish.

The Irish are off to a red hot 3-0 start, but they haven’t had a big challenge yet, and they wont get one tomorrow.

Favored by 17 points, Notre Dame is looking grab another easy win. They have won their first three games by 14 points against Duke, a 52-point shutout against USF and a 16-point win against FSU.

17 points seems about right for this matchup.

The Cardinals will have a hard time stopping the Irish today, this is an upset I wouldn’t bet on.

#3 Georgia Bulldogs vs #2 Alabama Crimson Tide

As long as this game doesn’t get postponed, it’s by far the biggest game of the day.

With the second and third ranked team battling it out, it’s the most NFL-ready game this Saturday.

Alabama has gotten off to a 3-0 start powered by an explosive offense. They have averaged 560 yards on offense but have allowed 473 on defense.

It’s a new look for the Crimson Tide team airing it out all across the field.

But Georgia is known for their stout defense. Holding teams to just 236 yards in their first three games.

That is setting up an epic battle of a top defense verse one of the best offenses in college football – an epic matchup you don’t want to miss.

#1 Clemson Tigers vs Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets

The undefeated Tigers look to keep it rolling against an under matched Georgia Tech team.

Trevor Lawrence is a man on a mission this year, tossing for over 1,000 yards in just four games. He has 10 touchdowns and zero interceptions. Travis Etienne is becoming an all-star running back.

After losing to LSU in the championship game, the Tigers are on the prowl this season and won’t stop until they win it all.

Georgia Tech is just another speed bump along the way.

Favored by 27 points tonight, they will look to steamroll yet another team.

The Yellow Jackets are a decent team in the bigger picture of college football, but not compared to Clemson.

That’s all for today.
