It’s a legitimate question.
The Atlanta Falcons look almost as if they try to lose games instead of win them. After watching them for the past few weeks, I’m convinced that’s the case.
Still, as they face the Carolina Panthers on the road tonight, the division rivalry game could be the spark the Falcons need to turn this season around.
Let’s see if the Falcons are the best worst team in the NFL.

Dallas, Chicago and Detroit all came back from highly improbable situations to beat the struggling Falcons.
With a 1-6 record, the Atlanta Falcons are not he worst team in the league, but they are in the bottom 10.
The winless New York Jets hold the crown as the worst team in the NFL. But the Dallas Cowboys at 2-5 are going in the wrong direction. Then there are five other one-win teams.
The Minnesota Vikings, Houston Texans, Jacksonville Jaguars, New York Giants, and Cincinnati Bengals.
To my question, which one is the best worst team?
Statistically speaking, the Falcons are pretty impressive. The team is top ten in the league in scoring, second in total passing yards and third overall in total offensive yards.
They don’t have much of an issue on the offensive side of the ball.
The problem is that they have also allowed the most passing yards on their defense. They’ve allowed the most total yards as well. And they rank fifth in most points allowed. All at the bottom of the league in terms of defense.
Maybe that’s why they can’t stop anyone when the game is on the line.
Defenses can be improved though.
When that is their only weak point, I think it helps them take the cake as the best worst team in the NFL right now.
The Atlanta Falcons will be a two-point underdog on the road tonight.
