That was one of the best Sunday’s for football in forever.
The early games went all over the place as they came down to the wire, we had our first game in the snow and the Sunday night matchup did not disappoint – the best game all season.
We have a Monday night matchup today between the 5-1 Chicago Bears and 4-2 Los Angeles Rams, poised for another great game.
Our Elite Daily Bets will cover this game, including some interesting props.

Here’s your Monday Morning quarterbacking for today…
Thursday Night Game – Philadelphia Eagles vs New York Giants
Maybe the New York Giants should move Danny Dimes to running back? He is their leading rusher and he clocked near 21 mph on his 80-yard run that met the turf monster as he stumbled right at the 20 when he could of walked it in.
They can’t seem to find any room for their other running backs, and he can’t seem to throw the ball down the field much, so let’s switch it up.
At 1-6 this season is all but lost. If Daniel Jones doesn’t make it as a QB, I’m sure another team will pick him up as a running back, I’m only kidding.
But the Eagles put on an impressive game. Even though the Giants are one of the weakest teams in the leagues, they had to muster up a come-from-behind victory after trailing 21-10 in the 4th quarter.
That momentum can help turnaround what has been a struggling season. At 2-4-1, the Eagles get the hapless Cowboys next week, then the Giants once again. That could help them get even on the season before their opponents get a lot tougher.
Pittsburgh Steelers vs Tennessee Titans
The story of the undefeateds.
When the Pittsburgh Steelers up by 20 points early in the third, this game felt like it was over.
The Titans had only put up 7 points and were now down nearly three touchdowns.
But it was the Steelers who failed to score another point, nearly blowing their double-digit lead. Give the Titans some credit, they never gave up. It came down to a last second field goal that was just wide for the Titans that allowed the Steelers to escape Tennessee with the win.
It may not have been the prettiest win, but the Steelers are now 6-0 as they look to make a Super Bowl run this season.
Detroit Lions vs Atlanta Falcons
Gurley just won’t go down, literally.
With a minute left, all he had to do was take a knee and kick the game winning field goal. That’s all he wanted to do anyways. Instead, he awkwardly fell into the endzone by accident, and cost his team the game.
That’s right. An accidental touchdown.
And you don’t usually think something like that can cost you a game, but when you are playing the Lions with the atrocious defense of the Falcons, leaving time on the clock does just that – costs you the game.
The Lions marched right down the field with just a minute on the clock and tossed a TD to tie up the game with zero time left on the clock – a true game winning touchdown.
All it took was an extra point, which was more dramatic thanks to a penalty that made the extra point attempt more like a 35 yard field goal, but Prater still punched it through for the win.
The 1-6 Falcons just can’t seem to stop anyone. Their offense has played well, well enough to win these games, but their defense has proven each week that they can’t stop a team from scoring. They simply need to outscore teams in a shootout, which is hard to do week after week.
Until they get their defense fixed, this is a team set up for more close losses.
The Lions are sitting even after six games, 3-3, and close wins like this are great for the mental attitude for the players. They can rally around the big drive to end the game as they host the Colts next week.
Carolina Panthers vs New Orleans Saints
Teddy B. comes up just short of pulling off the upset in New Orleans. He got his team in field goal position to tie it with a 5:55 minute drive but then he made a huge mistake.
Teddy took a costly 8-yard sack.
Technically, that put them out of field goal range. But they went for it anyways since a field goal would tie the game.
Out comes Slye to attempt what would have been a new league record for a 65-yard field goal. The ball came up a yard short. Only if they had those 8-yards back.
They say football is a game of inches, and it takes scenarios like this to remind us of that.
Either way, Teddy and the Panthers have to find a way to win these close games. They put up a fight each week, but have fallen short in close games too many times.
Meanwhile, what Drew Brees, the veteran, is doing in New Orleans is something of a miracle. Without healthy receivers this season, he has helped get his team out to a 4-2 start.
He’s been missing his number one threat, Michael Thomas, practically all season. I know because he is on my fantasy team and has been riding the bench. After an injury, then a suspension, and now another industry, I’m not sure if Thomas wants to see the field at all.
But the impressive part for Brees is that him and Thomas were always on the same page. His number one target and the key to the Saints winning has been the Brees and Thomas connection. Without it, Brees has had to let other recievers to step up, and they are. With Sanders (when he is healthy), Smith and tight end Cook (when he is healthy), they are getting the job done.
With Thomas back at some point, they could do even more damage.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs Las Vegas Raiders
Our “Pick of the Week” was turned upside down as the Buc’s showed the world they are for real.
I thought the Raiders would have some momentum at home after the big win in Kansas City, but they didn’t.
Brady was picking them apart all day and they couldn’t get free on the offensive attack. It shows that this is going to be an up and down year for everyone.
The Patriots benched Cam Newton, who looked unstoppable early on. The Chiefs score at will, until they can’t move the ball and the Raiders can shut down the best quarterback in the league, then let the old guy beat them. You just never know.
But one thing we do know is that Brady and the Bucs have something going on in Tampa. They are bringing in Antonio Brown, one of the best receivers to play – when he is on the field.
Brady connected with him in New England and looks to add another threat at receiver that creates separation, an easy target to help Brady pick his opponents apart.
It took me seven weeks of action, but Tampa is making me a believer.
Seattle Seahawks vs Arizona Cardinals.
This was the Russel Wilson and Tyler Lockett show. I know they lost the game, and Metcalf’s huge rundown to save a pick 6 and take points off the board for the Cardinals is a big time highlight, but Lockett and Wilson weren’t playing fair.
Those catches, and there were like five or six, that no one in the rest of the NFL has ever made in a single night – and only a few could make them at all.
Toe drag as he is being pushed running full speed out of the back of the endzone, deep balls snagged with one hand as he is falling to the ground, and balls dropping right in his basket 40 yards down the field with a defender all over him.
The Cardinals couldn’t do anything better to stop those two. They just couldn’t.
Luckily, they didn’t have to. A missed field goal in over time set up a Kyler Murray drive for the game winning field goal.
For the Cardinals, it was a quiet win since all the big plays came from Seattle, but it was their best win all season. The Seattle Seahawks are still the team to bet in the NFC, but the Cardinals just proved they are ready for the big leagues and look to make a run this year.
That’s all for today.
