Today’s Rundown we’ll hit on fans coming back in the south, how Clemson is taking the top spot in preseason poll, and the 76ers firing their coach after seven seasons.
There’s a lot to digest in these topics, but we’ll keep it brief to get to what matters – today’s big matchups.
Our “Pick of the Day” is between the Utah Jazz and Denver Nuggets. If you are not signed up for our Fan Club package yet, there’s still time to get in on today’s action.

Now let’s dive into today’s Rundown…
Dolphins, University of Miami Plan for Fans
It’s been quiet trying to see who is going to allow fans and who isn’t, but teams are starting to step up. I love the move by south Florida to allow for fans in stadiums. Even at a reduced capacity, it could give the home team a bit of an edge.
Crowd noise won’t be much of a factor, but it’s already a phycological game. The Miami Dolphins open against the Buffalo Bills. Their coach, Sean McDermott has already said loud and clear how he feels:
“I think it’s honestly ridiculous that there will be on the surface what appears to be a playing field that’s like that, inconsistently across the league with the different away stadiums.”
This could be the year the Dolphins finally make the playoffs, and they could thank the fans if they do.
Either way, I like the move. Fans want sports. There’s no reason to keep them away any longer.
Bring on the tailgating!
Clemson No. 1
An AP poll ranked the top college football teams in the country before the season, and the University of Clemson takes the top spot. Ohio State and Alabama are right behind them. This may be what those second and third ranked teams need to have a chip on their shoulder, but there’s no doubting Clemson at this point.
Trevor Lawrence, one of the more vocal college athletes’ saying he is ready to play, is generating the hype bringing his team to an elite level once again. Clemson has been the national champions for college football two of the last four years, coming up just short of a third last season against LSU.
They look to finish what they started this year, and there’s no doubt they are at, or near, the top of the sport. I like them at number one before we get a look at what the other teams have put together.
For me, the most important thing is that they have a season.
Who doesn’t love college football? We already see the University of Miami plans on having fans. All I need is some more betting opportunities to profit from. And college football is a treasure trove of opportunity.
76ers Fire Coach
After seven seasons, the Philadelphia 76ers have fired coach Brett Brown. The 76ers made it to the playoffs, but it wasn’t enough to keep the coach around. Turns out, there’s going to be more changes at the organization.
That could include putting up their All-Stars Joel Embiid and Ben Simmons on the trading block. It wouldn’t be a wise move, and would set the franchise back from playoff hopes for years if they look to rebuild.
But with major changes on the way, anything is possible.
Let’s hope the higher ups simply want more brass from their coach. Brown did them well, making it to the playoffs three straight years, isn’t enough.
Whoever they bring in, expect a short leash if you are not going deep in the playoffs. That’s the message I get after firing the coach on a team that just limped into the playoffs thanks to injuries.
The big matchups in today’s Rundown features some major underdogs. One in the MLB, two great matchups in the NBA, and a mismatch in the NHL.
The Daily Sports Bets Rundown
Our “Pick of the Day” is on the first NBA matchup tonight, the Utah Jazz (-146) and Denver Nuggets (+124). Click here to see how you can get access to that pick.
The next NBA game is a flashy one between the Dallas Mavericks (+240) and Los Angeles Clippers (-295). The Mavericks remain a big underdog, +6.5 points, despite having evened up the series on Sunday night with an impressive win. I’m telling you, keep an eye on that Dallas team.
Over in the NHL, the Vancouver Canucks (+175) and Vegas Golden Knights (-210) go at it in game two of the second round. The Knights were all over game one, walking away with a 5-0 win. Can the Canucks bounce back? Vegas has been a top team all year, and are on a short list of favorites to win it all. They are looking for a sweep if they can get it.
The Pittsburg Pirates (+215) are the biggest underdog of the day as they face the Chicago White Sox (-250). This is the first time these two teams meet, but the Pirates 2-8 record on the road likely has something to do with being a big underdog tonight. That, and they simply are not as good as the White Sox, make it a mismatch from the start.
The Cincinnati Reds (+102) and the Milwaukee Brewers (-116) are a very even matchup. The Brewers are home, but they haven’t played well there this year, just 2-6. Meanwhile the Reds have a decent 6-8 record on the road. Both teams sit at 11-15 overall. The Brewers won the last game against the Reds at home 9-3.
