MLS is Back tournament has another double header today, but we’ll pick only our favorite matchup, between FC Cincinnati and Columbus Crew.
The earlier game, Atlanta United and New York Red Bulls is going to be a great battle between two of the top teams in the league. Atlanta United is the favorite, but not by much.
It’s going to be fun to watch, but the later game, Cincinnati and Columbus, gives us a clear bet.
Columbus Crew sits at 4th in the Eastern Conference while Cincinnati is at 11th.
This has helped give the Crew a strong favorite in tonights game. But when you dive into their matchups, one has had a tougher schedule.
Columbus has beaten New York City, who is ranked last in the Eastern Conference, and tied the 4th ranked team in the west, Seattle.
Meanwhile, FC Cincinnati has faced the two top ranked teams in the east – New York Red Bulls and Atlanta United. In each game, they lost by one goal, and had the edge when it comes to possession against the Red Bulls.
The problem has been that FC Cincinnati has been a little late to get a goal, falling behind two goals in each game before scoring.
Still, it has helped keep the games within reach.
And as they get a slightly easier opponent, and it’s in the “bubble” in Orlando, it gives them an opportunity to grab their first win of the season – and that’s where I’m placing my bets.
Bet on FC Cincinnati
