Round one continues in the NBA, and we are looking at action between the Brooklyn Nets and Philadelphia 76ers.
The Nets were able to steal game one in Philadelphia, but the odds makers are not buying it a second time around. They are still giving the 76ers 8.5 points to win.
That’s a spread I can live with.
We lost our bet yesterday in the NBA by one and a half points, so there will be some close games. But finding these matchups where an underdog I like is given so many points is a matchup we can’t pass up.
I Like the Underdog
This is my favorite type of bet. It’s one where the underdog is basically an even matchup, but the odds makers aren’t giving them any love.
That’s the case for Brooklyn.
In the regular season, these two teams split their four matchups, with each team winning two games a piece.
And in the first game of the first round, the Brooklyn Nets pulled off a solid nine point win on the road.
Even after that impressive game, they are the underdog by 8.5 points.
That’s a spread worth betting on.
The Brooklyn Nets may not pull off the upset over Philadelphia 76ers. But they will likely keep it a close battle in the second game, and another upset could easily be in the books – we just don’t have to put money on that.
At FanDuel they are paying out -110, or a 90.91% gain for the Nets to lose by 8.5 points or less. A $110 bet would be needed to payout $100. A $100 bet pays out $90.91.
