Arizona Coyotes vs Colorado Avalanche
During the regular NHL season, they had a chance to play two games, way back in 2019 – the Coyotes won one, and the Avalanche won one in overtime.
Since those games, Colorado has improved greatly, notching a 42-28-8 record, securing the second ranked team in the central division.
The Coyotes on the other hand, played well at times, but ended up with a 33-37-8 record, putting them fifth in the weaker pacific division.
But with it being the playoffs now, it’s anyone’s shot at moving forward.
Arizona has dug themselves a whole, falling behind 3-1 in the series. And while they have earned their chance to take down an impressive Colorado team, I don’t see it happening tonight.
The latest game was devastating for the Coyotes. After just putting up one goal through three periods, they all but threw in the towel.
Colorado came to make a statement, and boy did they.
Scoring three goals in the first, the lead put Arizona in a bind the rest of the game. They’d go on to grab a 7-1 win.
And now they are the clear favorite tonight.
But, knowing it’s all on the line tonight, Arizona won’t go quietly. They’ll do whatever they can to put points on the board, and due to that desperation, I like playing the over/under tonight.
It’s sitting at 5.5 goals. After the eight goals scored in the last game, and six before that, I believe this one gets over 5.5 goals as well. Both teams will be eager to score quick to set the tone, and that will put the game in a shootout from the first period.
