Covid-19 virus, and all of its variants, are picking up steam just in time for fall sports.
After doing pretty much all we as human beings can to stop the virus from spreading, it continues to grow and now, hot spots are on the brink of ICU issues once again.
Back in 2020, ICU capacity was key to shutting the world down.
And with fall sports like the NFL, NHL and NBA set to pick back up in the coming months, there will be major concerns about how or even if they can.
It means we are in another turbulent betting environment, and you have to know how to navigate it.
Covid Set to Wreck Sports in 2021?
Rule #1: Never place a bet early.
No matter what, wait until the last minute. As with anything during the Covid-era, games can be swung in an instance.
Like a starting quarterback having to quarantine, or half of a starting lineup forced to sit out two weeks. This is all common place with a rapidly spreading virus. Placing your bets early, even if they are the best lines possible, is simply not worth the risk.
You could be stuck in a no win situation before the clock even starts.
Simply wait until the last minute, make sure there are no issues, then place your bets.
Rule #2: Ignore the drama.
Don’t let who is or who isn’t supporting vaccines or masks get in the way. It can divide a locker room, stir up a riot even, but don’t let it into your head in a betting environment.
Talent is talent, who cares if they would rather be fined than bend to the NFL and get a vaccine. It just gives them another chip on their shoulder to go out and compete each week.
Rule #3: Enjoy the breaks.
Some days, or even weeks, there may not be much action. While we’ll continue to hunt down sports betting opportunities around the world, and may even dabble in some e-gaming, don’t feel pressured into keeping the gambling going.
When your normal flow is disrupted, it’s okay to kick back and relax until we return to normal.
At this point though, that may never happen. But sports will come back even if they take a hiatus due to the virus.
Stay patient, ignore the drama and never bet early. Your three keys to success in a Covid driven fall.
So let’s make the most of it today with more bets on the MLB while we still have a sense of normalcy.
“Pick of the Day” MLB: St. Louis Cardinals vs Pittsburgh Pirates
We got a home favorite tonight.
I’ve been watching the betting lines, and a lot of activity is going towards the Pirates at home. They don’t have the better record, that’s for sure.
But the last time these two teams played, it was in St. Louis and the Pirates won 7-2.
They lost the first five matchups between both them, but have won three out of the last four.
And the gambling community is betting they grab one more today at home. I’ll roll with this activity as we look for the Pirates to salvage some of their rough season.
Fanduel is paying out +102 for picking the Pirates to win. That means a $100 bet will have the chance to payout $102 or a 102% profit. If you are looking for an opportunity to win $100, you’ll need to bet $99 on this game.
For us to win, we need the Pittsburgh Pirates to win the game. If they lose, we lose the bet as well.
That’s all for today.
