Tonights “Pick of the Day” is in college basketball, as we look at two of the top 10 teams in the country: the Duke Blue Devils host the Florida State Seminoles.
I don’t have just one free pick for you, or two, but three insights for you to bet on in tonights game.
My first two will be regular picks, using insights and analysis to pick the best odds for this game.
The last one is a bit of a stretch. But, given the odds, makes it pleasing for a flyer on the battle in Durham tonight.
“Pick of the Day” – Sticking with the Over/Under
It has been one of my favorite bets lately.
When I don’t have a clear take on a game, I love looking at the over/under’s. This is where we can find great value, and tonight’s game is no different.
The over/under for Duke vs Florida St. is 148.50.
The odds makers are looking for a 78-70 kind of game, going Duke’s way.
Duke averages 83 points a game, while Florida St. averages 75 points a game. If they both hit their stride, that’s up to 158.
But I see this game going one of two ways.
Duke is looking to bounce back after a tough road win against the UNC Tarheels. It went to overtime in a game where they didn’t play great, but still put up 98 points. They are bringing a five-game win-streak back home and could be ready to explode if they find their rhythm.
That, to me, puts the over/under in this game a bit low.
Florida St. is carrying their own three-game win streak tonight, into Cameron Indoor where they will be hoping to upset the #2nd ranked team in the ACC – Florida St. is 3rd and Louisville is 1st.
So we are either in for a Duke blowout, which will be towards the over, or a great battle which I also have going towards the over as both teams can put up a ton of points.
That’s why we’ll be taking the over of 148.50 in tonights matchup. This means we are looking for the combined score of the two teams to add up to more than 148.50 points.

Second Free “Pick of the Day” – Taking Florida State Seminoles and the Points
Again, Duke is coming off a hard fought battle against the Tarheels. They didnt travel far, but it was an exhausting game.
They will either bounce back with some momentum, or be drained after that incredible game.
I’m leaning more towards them being drained. We’ve already seen this team prove they can be beat. While the talent is incredible, it takes time for them to mesh – longer than a single season.
Coach K likely is still playing around with lines and defensive matchups. He may not even have it all figured out before March Madness.
This allows other great teams, like Florida St., to come into Cameron Indoor looking for the big upset.
Florida St. is a phenomenal team this year, ranked 8th in the country just behind Duke, but ahead of them in the ACC.
They don’t like being an eight-point underdog, believe me.
Tonights game is going to be a great one, because Florida St. is going to battle till the end.
I have the game coming down to the buzzer, which means it won’t be an eight point spread.
We’ll take the Florida State Seminoles plus the eight points. All we need to win this bet is for Florida St. to lose by eight points or less.

Bonus “Pick of the Day” – Buzzer Beaters are the Dream
Now I know this one is a stretch, but since I have the game coming down to the wire, it’s worth a smaller bet.
I’m willing to take Florida St. to come up big and hit the final shot.
Shocker, but FanDuel is paying out +300 for this bet.
That means a $100 bet would pay out $300. But if you were looking to win $100, you just need to bet $33 on the game.
That’s a modest bet, for a big payout.
Duke could be getting on a role, but after seeing how inconsistent they have been this year, and struggling so bad against one of the weakest Carolina teams this decade, I’m ready to bet on Florida St. and the upset.
No points. Just a flat out upset.
Our bet last night came up a few points short. It’s okay. Our three picks today will get us back on track.
