The Houston Rockets are set to travel to Utah to face the Jazz in the third game of the first series. The Rockets lead the series 2-0, but Utah is looking to bounce back at home. Here’s our take:
With home court advantage playing a big role, the Jazz have managed to be favorites in the game three matchup. The books are giving the Rockets two points to make it even.
Over the first two games in Houston, they dominated. Each win was by 20 points or more. And now, as the courts flip, they are a two point underdog.
It’s true they split their regular season games, with the Jazz winning two, one on the road and one at home. But, since mid-December, the Rockets have dominated the series, going 4-0 in those last four matchups, including the playoffs.
This is easily a game where the Rockets should have been a favorite, and have a great chance at pulling off the upset with a double-digit win. Still, I’m happy to take Houston plus two points to give us better odds at winning in case it is a close game at the end.
We’ve Found our Underdog
It’s a matchup that ends up being a no brainer because of those stats, and one I’m happy to place money on today.
FanDuel is paying out 90.91% for winning this matchup, at -110 odds. That means a $110 bet would payout $100 in profits, or a $100 bet would net $90.91 in profit.
The higher the points you can find being given to the Rockets, the better. It simply means they could lose by a wider margin, and you still could win your bet.
At two points, we need the Houston Rockets to lose by one point or win for us to win the bet. If they lose by two points it’s a tie and your bet is refunded. If they lose by more than two, we lose the bet.
Let’s go Rockets.
To profitable bets,
Ryan
