Inter Miami vs Orlando City at Disney, what more could you want. Soccer is back! Well, sort of.
As one major U.S. league is getting underway, that means we are back in action.
While some MLS games are being postponed, and the new shortened season may be cut even shorter, we will have daily bets for you along the way.
The two Florida based teams look to build a new rivalry and it’s these earlier battles that build it up. While both of them are not off to a good start this year, that means it’s only up from here.
FanDuel has the odds on tonight’s game tilting in Miami’s favor, at +125. And to make it tempting, the underdogs, Orlando City, sit at +185. The tie is the sweetest bet, with +240.
So the question is, where do you place your bets.
Orlando City or Inter Miami?
With the teams playing in a bubble in Orlando, without fans, there isn’t technically a home team. But clearly, Orlando playing literally in their home city is considered the home team, and gives them a slight boost. Miami has to make the near 3.5 hour trek to the north.
Now, as I mentioned, both teams have struggled this year. It’s Inter Miami’s first year in the league, and they have two losses, allowing a total of three goals against them, while only scoring one.
Orlando has one loss and one tie, allowing two goals and only scoring one of their own.
You can expect a low scoring game, as both teams look to get into playing shape once again. It’s hard to say if the lack of game time will lead to more or less scoring in the end. What we do know, is that Miami is the favorite heading into the matchup, and the new team will look to grab their first win of the season.
My “Pick of the Day” is to take Miami to win, +125 on FanDuel right now. That means a $100 bet would pay out $125 if Inter Miami comes out on top. If you want to win $100 on each bet, you’ll only need to put up $80.
Bonus Props!
Since we haven’t had many games to bet on, I want to break down a few prop bets too good to pass up.
With these bets, you can begin picking the over/under for total points, and even try to predict the final score. Here’s my props for the first MLS matchup.
First, the specific score is paying out around +1,000 point bets. It’s easy to place a really cheap wager on these, knowing you more than likely will get it wrong. I’d place low priced bets on both, Orlando to win 2-1 (+1,000) and Miami to win 2-1 (+850).
2-1 seems like a reasonable score in the game, which leads me to my next prop bet – taking the over on 2.5 goals scored. FanDuel is paying out -138 for the bet.
And lastly, hedge your bets by placing another small wager on a scoreless game, paying out +1,200 if no one scores.
