We are taking a break today from March Madness and focusing on a matchup in the NBA between the Memphis Grizzlies and the Los Angeles Clippers.
These teams are pretty familiar with each other.
They have faced off three times this year, two games going to the Clippers, one going to the Grizzlies.
It may come as no surprise that the Clippers are the favorite tonight, with a 10-point spread over the Memphis Grizzlies.
However, the only team to beat the other team by ten points or more, is the Grizzlies beating the Clippers. When the Clippers won, they did so by margins of five and six points.
In this home game matchup for the Clippers, they are giving them a ten point advantage.
Our Advantage
This seems a bit of a stretch, albeit possible. I like the Grillies in this matchup to at least cover the spread, and maybe challenge the game for a win.
What the odds makers are watching is average points per game. The Grizzlies are around 104 and the Clippers are at 115. That gives you a 10 point spread. But to not include how the two teams matchup when playing each other is a situation we’ll look to capitalize on.
We always look for an edge in a matchup. The spread is our matchup based on how the teams have played each other so far. We know its going to be a battle, and in the battle, I like the underdog to cover the spread.
Taking the Grizzlies to lose by 10 points or less is paying out 90.91%, or -110. That means to net a $100 profit, you’ll need to bet $110.
If you can find a larger spread, amount greater than 10, take it. It is better odds for picking the Grizzlies to cover that spread.
To profitable bets,
Ryan
