The MLB is back and in classic fashion. A great season opener between the New York Yankees and defending champs the Washington Nationals.
And it feels great.
Baseball is going down tonight and more sports are coming in the next few weeks.
I’m pumped and ready to make some bets.
We’ll start with the first game of the season tonight.
New York Yankees vs Washington Nationals
The defending World Series Champs have their home opener against a very good, if not great, New York Yankees roster.
The Yanks Gerrit Cole gets his debut against the best of the best. He was 20-5 last season with the Houston Astros. Looking to take the Yankees to the World Series Championship this year, a win against the Nationals will be a great boost.
On the other side, Max Sherzer, pitcher for the Nationals, is coming off the biggest game of his career. But with a four month delay to the season, he has had plenty of time to get pumped about running for another title.
And, likewise, this would be a great win at home for Sherzer and the Nationals.
After the Yankees grabbed Gerrit Cole from the Houston Astros, they are the second team in the running as a favorite to win the World Series. And that has helped them be a favorite tonight.
Sure enough, it puts a chip on Washington’s shoulder as they come off a phenomenal World Series run.
For now, the first game of the season, I’ll roll with the Yankees and Gerrit Cole to continue his strong success as a starting pitcher.
