Today’s “Pick of the Day” is all about the opportunity, it just comes a day earlier. Inter Miami CF and New York City FC are essentially an evenly matched game kicking off at 8am tomorrow.
But there’s a huge favorite based on the odds.
That creates an opportunity for us to capitalize on the overly confident favorite here.
Inter Miami CF vs New York City FC
These are the two worst teams in the east, sitting at 13th in Miami, and 14th in New York City.
But, the lower ranked New York City FC is a huge favorite in tomorrow’s matchup.
Both teams have four straight losses, and neither of them have momentum heading into this game. I’d say it’s a toss up on who wins, but with Inter Miami CF paying up big for the win, that’s the team I’m taking.
Inter Miami has lost each of their four losses by just one goal. 1-2 scores against Orlando, DC and Philadelphia, and a 0-1 loss against Dallas.
NYC on the other hand, had been shut out in their first three games, suffering 0-1 losses against Philadelphia, Columbus and Toronto. Then they got beat 1-3 against Orlando in their last game.
This is a team that is struggling, but the odds makers are not giving up on the talent that fills the roster. It’s there, it just hasn’t showed up in a game yet.
So I’ll stick with the team that, so far, has played better soccer.
That’s it.
I don’t care if they are the huge underdog, I’ll roll with Inter Miami.
