Our “Pick of the Day” is back in the MLS between Orlando City SC and Los Angeles FC.
We’ve had some fun with bets on the MLB and NBA, but the MLS is Back tournament is still fun to watch, and provides intense bets right now.
Today’s winner will advance to the semifinal round of the tournament. It’s win or go home, so let’s dive into how we are betting on this matchup.
Orlando City SC vs Los Angeles FC
Two of the top teams this year. One is a home town favorite, Orlando City, but Los Angeles FC (better known as LAFC) has been dominant this year.
There’s nothing that says that will stop in the knockout rounds.
Orlando City has fought tough in every game, squeezing one and two point leads to find the wins. They have only suffered one loss, found two draws to go with their two close wins.
The LAFC on the other hand, has had an explosive offense to make up for a weaker defense. They’ve scored as much as six points in a game, and followed it with a 2-2 tie against Portland, then a dominant 4-1 win over Seattle.
They come into tonights game as a clear favorite.
Orlando Citys tight D could keep it close, but I don’t see them over coming the goal-happy LAFC offense.
I’m taking LAFC tonight, to win it tonight by more than one point.
FanDuel is paying out -150 for LAFC to win the matchup. But for them to win by more than one point, they are paying out +200. That’s a huge difference. And I like their attack and how aggressive they can score, even against a strong defense.
So I’ll take LAFC to win by more than one point. That means a $100 bet will turn into $200 after a $100 profit. If you want to win $100 on this game, you need to bet just $50.
