Battling for a spot to advance, both teams are eager for a win tonight. And a draw can’t be ruled out.
Real Salt Lake is coming off a big game where they ended in a draw with Minnesota. Sporting Kansas City just had a tough matchup of their own, facing Colorado and coming back late in the game for a 3-2 win.
Both teams have had their moments this year, but with totally different approaches.
Real Salt Lake vs Sporting Kansas City
Sporting Kansas City is more aggressive, scoring 3 to 4 goals in three games this year. The only time they were held to one is their sole loss to Minnesota.
Real Salt Lake has only scored three goals this season, and have created a total of three draws in four games. Their only win is over Colorado as they tied Orlando, New York Red Bulls, and Minnesota just last week.
Defense is clearly Real Salt Lakes favorite approach. Keep the other team from scoring, and they have a chance. Two of their draws ended in a shutout, and they sole win was a 2-0 game.
With Sporting Kansas City coming off a tough battle that, arguably, shouldn’t have gone their way, they were able to over come a nine man Colorado team after two red cards to find the win.
A win is a win, but Real Salt Lake is doing it much more consistently. After they showed they can shutout another high scoring team in Minnesota, I like taking Real Salt Lake with a huge odds payout in this matchup tonight.
