Our “Pick of the Day” is on the NBA matchup between the Denver Nuggets and Los Angeles Lakers.
Two top teams set to compete in the playoffs don’t have much on the line tonight, except to get their groove back heading into the playoff rounds.
Here’s who to place your bet on tonight…
Denver Nuggets vs Los Angeles Lakers
Heading into tonight’s game, the Denver Nuggets have been a few intense battles. They are coming off a close second over time win against Utah and a rough loss against Portland.
The Lakers meanwhile, have lost three straight after locking in the top seed for the western conference.
That puts tongihts matchup in the spotlight as both teams look to get in a groove for the playoffs just around the corner.
With two of the top teams in the league, a solid win tonight could fuel their momentum at just the right time.
And there’s Lebron James. Who is going to count him out when it’s a big game? Not me.
I like the Lakers to bounce back tonight, but they are favored by five points already in the sports books. Clearly they all feel the same way.
So we don’t want to chase that bet. It’s going to be a close game.
Instead, the way I want to bet on the Lakers to get back on track is with the over/under.
It’s set at 221 for tonights game and I’m taking the over. That means I expect the two teams to combine for more than 221 points.
These teams have averaged just over 221 points scored per game, but have pretty good defenses to hold the opponents lower.
With both teams looking to get going at the right time, they are going to do that with the getting on fire on the offensive side of the game.
The Lakers and Nuggets have powerful potential. In the last two meetings between these two teams, they both topped 221 – scoring a total of 236 and 232. And the last five games for the Nuggets have gone for more than 221.
It’s the Lakers that have been in lower scoring matchups, but that changes tonight as they look to get back on track.
Your “Pick of the Day”
FanDuel is paying out -110 for the total score of the game to be over 221. That means a $110 bet would pay out $100 in profits, turning $110 into $210 if we win. If you are looking to bet $100 on each game, you’d stand to win $90.91.
