The New York Islanders will host the traveling Boston Bruins to a key matchup tomorrow night. The two teams are battling for playoff position, and both are among the top of their respective divisions.

Now, for today’s key matchup, we’ll dive into the stats, and why we think there is a huge opportunity for some quick profits here.
An Underdog that Isn’t
This is one of my keys to finding a great bet. The secret, is to find an underdog that isn’t really the underdog.
In this matchup, the book makers are giving Boston Bruins a slight edge over the Islanders, as the favorite to win with a spread of 1.5 points.
And I understand why.
These two teams have met twice so far this season. On each occasion, the Bruins pulled off the win. Both were at home for the Bruins as well.
However, this game is in New York. The Islanders are at the top of the Metropolitan Division and looking to secure that spot a little more with an upset against the Bruins.
Normally, I wouldn’t go against the previous matchups, but in this case, the home rink advantage will play a part. In the first matchup, the Bruins pulled off the win after a shoot out. The second one went to a 3-1 win, but again, still at home for the Bruins.
The Bruins are starting a four game road trip, facing the tough Islanders as their first matchup.
This season, 65% of the Bruins losses, including overtime losses, have came from road games. They are coming off a four straight losses in their previous road trip, and will not face an easy win tomorrow night.
Because of the fatigue from traveling and the phycological effects it has on a team, I like the Islanders as the slight underdog. This will be too much for the Bruins to overcome. That’s why I’m taking the Islanders to win this matchup, straight up. No spread needed. Just picking the Islanders to win outright.
