Our “Pick of the Day” is in the NHL Playoffs between the New York Islanders and Washington Capitals.
Game two of the first round between these two is going to be close. The Islanders grabbed game one, but the Capitals won’t go quietly in game two. Here’s who to bet on…
New York Islanders vs Washington Capitals
These two teams split games this season. They met four times before the shutdown, and each team won two games – all the wins were for the away team, oddly enough.
The Islanders walked away with a 4-2 win in game one, but don’t count the Capitals out.
Maybe the Islanders are more game ready. They are coming off a best of five with the Florida Panthers. While it only went to four games, it was enough to wake up the Islanders and get them in playoff mode.
The Washington Capitals only played seeding games, which isn’t quite the same intensity, and it showed.
They were up 2-0 early against the Islanders and let them come back, including scoring a short-handed goal, to get a 4-2 win.
I don’t think the Capitals let one slip away again.
