“Pick of the Day” NFL: Los Angeles Rams vs Seattle Seahawks

“Pick of the Day” NFL: Los Angeles Rams vs Seattle Seahawks

Let’s get ready for some Thursday Night Football!

I have to admit, I was sweating our unders part of the teaser bet at halftime last night, but after the teams combined for 28 points in the third (the Sun scored 32 in the first period), I felt a lot better.

This was a case where our teaser maybe helped us sleep a little better, but didn’t help the bet. With that said, had we taken the other side of the teaser, betting on the Sun and the over, we would have lost either way.

I like teasers because they give us that cushion that so many bets fall through. Last minute baskets, garbage touchdowns. We’ve all seen it. And a teaser helps make a sure bet stay a winner.

In the NBA and WNBA a teaser is just four points. But in the NFL, it is six points making it a more promising play.

Today, we’ll take another teaser, this time in the NFL with the Thursday night matchup between the Los Angeles Rams and Seattle Seahawks.

As usual, I have plenty of prop bets today, along with other sports matchups. To get all of our insights, you need to be an MVP member.

Los Angeles Rams vs Seattle Seahawks

We have a familiar bet tonight, basically taking our WNBA pick, and many others, and applying it once again.

The home team Seattle Seahawks who are 2-2, but only lost by more than a field goal to the Vikings on the road. The Rams are coming off a home loss against the top ranked Cardinals and are looking to bounce back.

It’s the Seahawks who are the underdogs by 2.5 points and the Rams who are favored.

But I’m expecting a great game for Seattle being home. They likely won’t even suffer a loss, but if they do, I don’t believe it will be more than a touchdown.

By adding a teaser, we can get the Seahawks plus 8.5 points.

For the other leg of the teaser, the over/under is at 54. Both teams have been putting up points and allowing opponents to basically score at will. But this is the NFL. If there’s one thing both coaches have been hard at work at, it’s slowing down the other team.

I’m happy to take the under, and to give us the best chances of a win, we add it to our teaser bet to move the over/under to 60 total points.

Sportsbooks pay out -120 for using a teaser on the Seattle Seahawks plus 8.5 points (was 2.5 points) and to come in under 60 points (was 54 points). That means a $100 bet will have the chance to payout $83, or a 83% profit. If you are looking for an opportunity to win $100, you’ll need to bet $120 on this game.

For us to win, we need both results to work out.

We need the Seattle Seahawks to lose by eight points or less, or win the game. If they lose by nine points or more, we will lose the bet.

We also need the total combined score to add up to 59 points or less. If it is exactly 60, the bet is tied and will be canceled on this leg. If it adds up to 61 points or more, we will lose the bet.

If either of those lose, we will lose the overall bet. That’s how a teaser works.
