We just won a bet on the Capitals to win by more than 1.5 goals the other day. This time, we are looking at the over/under.
It sits at 6.5 goals.
That’s high for normal hockey games, but has been the norm so far early in the season.
Still, a lot of money is fading the bet tonight, and I have a feeling we get an under to hit on this exact game.
So let’s roll with under 6.5 goals.
Both teams are coming off a two-game stretch of more than 6.5 combined goals. We are simply betting on a reversion to the mean tonight and come in with fewer than 7 total goals.
Fanduel is paying out -122 for picking the total score to add up to 6.5 goals or less. That means a $100 bet will have the chance to payout $87, or a 87% profit. If you are looking for an opportunity to win $100, you’ll need to bet $122 on this game.
For us to win, we need the combined score from both teams to add up to 6 goals or less. If it adds up to seven goals or more, we will lose the bet.
