We’ve had a rough go at it in our first two NHL picks. We stuck with the favorites in the Tampa Bay Lightning and the Boston Bruins, only to see them get upset at home.
With another home game set up for the second round, I have a feeling it will be sweet revenge. That’s why we are not giving up on these bets just yet. Sure, we lost our original bets, but we’ll look to make them back as Tampa Bay bounces back tomorrow.
The Lightning are going to come out in this second game with a new mentality. One that will seek to shut down the Blue Jackets and could be a 2-0 or 3-1 game easily.
They got embarrassed at home, and the Blue Jackets know they may have woke a sleeping giant.
Lightning Seeking Revenge
This is going to be an exciting game, but the money has to be on the league leading Lightning to have one heck of a game.
The book at FanDuel is paying an even +100, or 100% payout for -1.5 to the Tampa Bay Lightning. That means for every $100 bet, your winnings will be $100.
This is a smaller payout than in the first game, which tells me we are not the only one expecting the Lighting to bounce back strong in this game.
In our first bet, we laid out the stats that back up the dominance we should have seen in game one, and will pop up in round two.
Tampa Bay is the number one team walking into the playoffs, and they let that get into their heads in round one.
They started with a bang, jumping to a 3-0 lead against Columbus in the first quarter, but failed to keep it. They fell to Columbus in an embarrassing 4-3 loss.
Now they are looking for sweet revenge and could easily win by more than two points.
