Tomorrow three number one seeds in the NCAA tournament take the court. The Virginia Cavaliers are the first, facing the Gardner-Webb Bulldogs at 3:10 est.
This is an easy win, but the spread is what is betable with this matchup, and I have found the advantage we were looking for.
First, let’s recap our recent bets.
After Louisville fell to Minnesota earlier today, and West Virginia dominated yesterday, we are now 3-2 out of our last five picks. That’s a 60% win-rate which is right where we want to be. We’ll look to score another win tomorrow with UVA.
This is a team that doesn’t want a repeat of last year, and that makes them dangerous.
The Past is Motivation
If you watched the tournament last year, Loyola-Chicago stole the show and was everyone’s favorite underdog. But before they advanced to the Final Four, there was an even bigger upset – 16-seed UMBC topped number one seed UVA in a 20-point butt kicking.
UVA hasnt forgotten about this loss. And instead of being embarrassed, they have used it as motivation all season, experiencing just three losses, two to another number one seed, Duke.
And as they prepare for their appearance as a number one seed again, they are not going to take it lightly.
The spread right now is for the Virginia Cavaliers to win by 21.5 points. This season, 16 of UVA’s 29 wins have been by 20 points or more, more than half.
The books are giving it a -110 payout, meaning a $110 bet would net a $100 payout, or 90.91%.
If you can find a better spread take it. Anything fewer than 21.5 points is better. But I think UVA is highly motivated to secure a huge win, and 21.5 points is easily within their reach.
To profitable bets,
Ryan
