We jumping to hockey tomorrow, with a great matchup between the Florida Panthers and Washington Capitals.
This feels like an easy win for the Capitals, who are first in the Metropolitan division and reigning champs. But, the Panthers have had their number this year.
They have faced off twice already, both games going to the Panthers in overtime and a shootout.
This time, however, the Panthers are eliminated from the playoff race.
The Importance of Playoffs
For me, that will more than overcome the balanced stat sheet between the two teams, and the inconsistencies that have kept the Panthers out of the playoffs, such as lack of defense, will pop up again in this game.
They are simply playing for next year, while the Capitals are building momentum to head in to the playoffs and secure a top spot.
The spread at the moment is 1.5 points for the Capitals to win, and I think they will cover that spread.
The Panthers will have a tough time keeping their head up as they are out of playoff contention. They have seen it coming, but it’s always harder to finish out a meaningless season, vs a team setting up to go deep in the playoffs.
This is a bet for the Washington Capitals to beat the Panthers by two or more points tomorrow night.
If they do, it pays out a 180% profit, or +180. That means a $100 bet will payout $180. It’s not a bet we find often, a positive payout, but in this case, it’s the best path to take.
If you can find a spread smaller than 1.5, even one point, then take it. It means you’ll need the Capitals to win by fewer points. It may not sound like much going for 1.5 to one, but if they win by one point and that is your spread, it’s a tie and you get your initial bet refunded. If you had the 1.5 point spread, you would have lost the bet completely. So the spreads are a huge factor and it’s worth shopping to see if there is a better book.
