Today we’ll look at the matchup between Wyoming Cowboys and New Mexico Lobos.
Yesterdays pick for the Predators to win didnt work out. So we’ll get back on track with NCAA Basketball pick today.
But first, let’s talk about how March Madness has already begun.
Even though the big NCAA Tournament hasn’t kicked off yet, all the divisional tournaments are in full swing.
I hope you caught the upset for Gonzaga last night. Unranked St. Mary’s pulled off the win over #1 Gonzaga.
More upsets are likely to continue today, but that’s not how we are picking the Wyoming vs New Mexico matchup.
These teams met twice in the regular season, but one is starting to get hot just in time for the tournament.
In their first matchup, New Mexico was a beast, winning by exactly 30 points.
The spread on the matchup today though is just 9 points. You may be wondering why New Mexico is favored by just 9 after the whopping they put on them earlier this year.
But, just look back to last Saturday to understand.
New Mexico Lobo’s hosted the Wyoming Cowboys, setting up for a repeat of the performance they put on when they visited Wyoming.
Wyoming was having none of it. The Cowboys started strong, and, even though they were unable to have a strong defensive push, they were able to pull off the upset as Justin James, Wyoming’s guard, put up 28 points. He also had 12 rebounds, helping to dominate around the boards.
The final score was 88-81, the Cowboys with the upset.
That’s why I’m going with the Wyoming Cowboys today to just cover the spread. New Mexico is favored by 9 points. So I’ll take the Cowboys for covering that and losing by less than 9 points today.
The odds makers are giving it -110, meaning a $110 bet would pay out $100.
A $100 bet would pay out $90.91 if Wyoming loses by 9 points or less. Of course, if they win, that covers the spread too.
During March Madness, anything can happen, but our picks will remain as basic as possible – no big upsets here.
