Three sports, three angles, one weekend. The Stanley Cup Final flips to Vegas for the pivot game with the series tied 1-1, the Yankees and Red Sox renew the rivalry at the Stadium tonight, and Scottie Scheffler is hunting a third straight green jacket at Muirfield. Buckle up.
Weekend Betting Insights
The biggest story heading into Saturday night is Game 3 of the Stanley Cup Final. After Vegas stole Game 1 in Raleigh and Carolina answered in overtime in Game 2, we’re tied 1-1 and shifting to T-Mobile Arena. Historically, the Game 3 winner of a 1-1 series goes on to win the Cup roughly 80% of the time — this is the pivot. The market sees it as a coin flip with Carolina a slight chalk at -108 on the road, Vegas -102, total 5.5.
The MLB Friday slate gives us a live hook with the post going up at first pitch of Red Sox at Yankees on Peacock — Sonny Gray (3.06 ERA) versus Ryan Weathers (3.52 ERA) is a quality matchup but the Yankees lineup at home is the side. -144/-150 is the right number even with the road dog being live.
And we’d be malpracticing not to mention Scottie Scheffler at Memorial. He’s the two-time defending champ at +310 going for the three-peat at Muirfield Village — a course he’s solved. We’re not playing him outright at -310 implied, but the top-5 and matchup angles are alive.
Hurricanes ML @ Golden Knights (-108) — Game 3, Sat 6/6, 8 PM ET, ABC

THE PLAY: Take the Hurricanes on the road in the pivot. Carolina won Game 2 in OT and has now found the structural weaknesses in Vegas’s heavy forecheck. They got 33 shots on Hill in Game 2 and the second-line shift led by Aho was the swing.
THE LINE: CAR -108 ML / CAR -1.5 +220 / Total 5.5
WHY: Game 3 in a 1-1 SCF historically wins the series ~78% of the time. Vegas is back home but Hill has yet to put together a 30-save shutout this series — and Carolina’s road playoff record (5-2 entering this series) plays. -108 is a fair number for the better team.
Yankees ML vs Red Sox (-144) — Fri 6/5, 7:05 PM ET, Peacock

THE PLAY: Lay the chalk with the Yankees at home in the rivalry opener. Weathers (2-3, 3.52 ERA) gets the start in front of a stadium that’s been buying every at-bat. Judge has been on a tear and the lineup is built for righty-friendly Yankee Stadium dimensions.
THE LINE: NYY -144 ML / -1.5 +145 / Total 8
WHY: Yankees are 37-25, BOS is 26-35. Gray is good but Weathers has quietly been one of the AL’s most consistent #4 starters. Home/road splits + the Yankees’ bullpen rest favor the home chalk.
